About Us

BIC was founded by Late Sri S N Banerjee, a passionate engineer working at Simla Bahal and Bhalgora Colliery who resigned to try and set up his own business. He started his business in a small room at Katras More, Jharia before the coal mines nationalisation in the year 1972. From Jharia, he later moved to Ranguni Phatak near Bhuli and finally moved to Dhanbad at the present location.

We started with repairing Gate End box, switch gears and rewinding of motors followed by transformers repairing. At that time, most of the equipments were of European make and we had to develop spares accordingly.

During the 80s, the transformer repairing works were on full swing. We started manufacturing and developing current transformer, potential transformer, cable coupler for Coal India and Railways. We began site testing around this time as well as making requirement based test equipments.

In the 20s, BIC started developing Restricted Neutral Grounding System 433V-750mA, 550V-750mA, 3.3kV-50A, 6.6kV-50A and now we develop up to 11kV-10A.
